The house has no basement, as it is situated in an area threatened by Rhine floods. Storage areas are provided within the house itself and in the garage which is larger than usual.

The floor plan is organized in a way that makes it possible to live on the first floor only, to suit reduced agility because of aging. Thus the hallways are short, the doors are wide (1 m, 3.3 ft), the stairway is straight.
